Manchester music: Robert Lippok and Tenori-On at Mint Lounge
I’ve been away again so missed the second New Islington (aka Ancoats) Festival on Saturday. The lineup looked decent enough and hopefully it wasn’t as bad as last year, when rain all but ruined the day.
If you’re in the mood for more free music this week, you’d be hard pressed to beat Wednesday night’s offering at Mint Lounge on Oldham Street:
Featuring:
Robert Lippok (Domino/To Rococo Rot)
Toshio Iwai (Media Artist)
Secondo (Dreck Records)
Graham Massey (808 State/Toolshed)8pm-Midnight
Admission Free – Please arrive early to avoid disappointment!
The event is a spin-off from the Futuresonic digital arts festival, which is where I saw Toshio perform with his Tenori-On last year. It was pretty breath-taking in a conference room, so in the right venue should be quite a spectacle.
I expect Robert Lippok (from German electronica group To Rococo Rot) will put on a good show too. Check out his music here.
