The Warehouse Project returns – again

So well did May’s Beneath The Streets clubnights go for ambitious organisers the Warehouse Project that they’ve decided to return to their unusual venue, under Piccadilly train station, for the Warehouse Project pt 3.

As with the Boddingtons Brewery sessions in 2006, their events run right through the winter – from late September until January 1 2008.

The lineups are works-in-progress at the moment but already include familiar names such as DJ Yoda, Soulwax, Pendulum, Simian Mobile Disco, Hot Chip and Aphex Twin. Plus dozens of other names to make you salivate – if you like dance music. Tickets available from the usual places.

Their chosen venue, to remind you, is a 2,000-capacity room on Store Street. The Warehouse Project’s website has a gallery of the place, which looks suitably Mancunian and comfort-free.

We Brits love to queue under bridges

The organisers have also added a blog section, to ‘take a look at some of the people who come together to make the events happen’. They’re doing something different and fairly risky so good luck to them!

I hope they make more effort with the sound this time. Beneath the streets was good but one sets of speakers either side of the stage just wasn’t enough.

I think you’ll find it was plenty loud enough mate. There were 10 x double 18″ subs under the stage and the system was designed to keep the sound inside the main room which worked perfeclty. listen with your ears not your eyes.

I agree with Tristan the coverage just wasn’t there okay near the stage but that was it. I don’t know why everyone goes on about function 1 speakers sound really hollow to me.

Well Paul T, I guess that’s why you’re not a sound engineer – no ears. Everybody likes to think they know about sound when they don’t. leave it to the professionals lads.

The warehouse project was an amazing experience. I saw Morillo , van dyk and eddie halliwell. the music was mind blowing, exhilerating and wild. The sound and venue is so unique, it makes you feel your floating in space.

As a sound engineer myself, the view of the punters at the gig is surely just as important as my own. After all they are paying my wages.

As for funktion 1 sounding hollow… Dont agree with that at all, the res series is probaly the best sounding boxes I have heard!

The warehouse project was an amazing experience. I already have worked in this areas
