Something for the weekend: Chorlton Beer Festival and the Enchanted Ballroom

Just a quick one to let you know about two events happening tomorrow…

First up, Chorlton Beer Festival takes places at St Clement’s Church on Edge Lane once again. Last year’s event was great, helped by decent weather and the novelty factor of drinking beer in a church. Hopefully at least one of these will remain this year.

The festival is open from 11am until 11pm and over 20 real ales are available. Entry is free and you just have to buy tokens to exchange for drinks (no drugs transactions in the house of God, thank you very much).

Staying in South Manchester, the Enchanted Ballroom (or Bal Enchante) takes place Saturday evening (7-11pm) in Platt Fields Park. This one-off event, organised by Manchester International Arts, promises ‘all things French with live music, outdoor ballroom, cabaret, street theatre, food, activities and of course the guillotine!’

Entry is just one pound. See the MIA website for a bit more information.
