Free Manchester’s monsters
I’ve noticed a couple of curious blog posts in recent week, and yesterday I received this cryptic message:
Monsters are set free as soon as you conjure them up. Then anyone who lives in Manchester or visits the city will be able to find your monster using their mobile phone.
Turns out this is part of a project called Free Manchester’s Monsters. The general idea is to ‘conjure up’ a monster by naming and describing it in 150 characters or less - then logging it via their Myspace.
So far everything seems a little vague, but apparently it’ll be like Anywhere Blogs, which asked Manchester’s residents and visitors to use their personal experiences to put together a sort of psychogeographical map of the city.
