Pillow fights… water fights… Mancunians are apparently always up for a ruck. Here’s the latest one, being promoted on Facebook:

Date: Saturday 9 June
Time: 2pm
Venue: Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield, Manchester M14 6GA

The ‘rules of conduct’ advise not to bring a camera (for obvious reasons) and not to take it too seriously. But, given that this event comes at the end of the student exam period, there may well be some pent-up stress to be relieved.

They also add sensibly: ‘Please try not to use more water than you have to - preserve your supplies… REMEMBER there is a water ban this summer as it is possibly going to the hottest recorded and we don’t wanna get the council angry.’

The Facebook group has over 3,500 members already, giving some indication of the interest. Coincidentally, the world record for a water fight is also around 3,500 participants…
