Manchester Student Guide
In among the domains sending people here recently – Mafia News, Newzline, Empty Streets, Peanuts Playground etc – I spotted Manchester Student Guide:
Manchester Student Guide: your guide to the important things whilst at university. By that we mean the really important stuff like pubs, clubs, curry houses, places to go and just as importantly places to avoid like the plague.
Established over a curry at Al Nawaz, the writers hope to give readers some suggestions of where to go and what to do in Mancland when the union becomes a little too tedious.
I like the idea. The site’s nice and tidy too, using blogging technology because nothing more complicated is required. Hopefully it’ll grow to become a useful resource for thousands of clueless students.

Can I be the first to say “bloody students”? Fair do’s to them for starting the blog, and they are getting out and about round town a bit more than your average student, but from a brief glance it does seem to have that typical student attitude of looking down on “locals”. Oh well!

Students will be students. And there’s nothing worse than living in a city for three or four years and not actually bothering to explore it.
The posts so far have been about pretty standard student haunts, but hopefully that’ll change over time.

Well, it’s not supposed to be public knowlege yet, we’re still working on the site. We were hoping to get quite a few posts on there before people found out about it, but ta for the link anyway.

It’s hard to keep anything from my all-seeing web eye. Didn’t realise it was your site! Good luck with it.
