Nexus: creative community art
I remember reading about Nexus and their so-called Street Angels during Christmas party season last month. Here’s a piece about them on The Publican’s website.
It sounded a good idea – particularly offering safe shelter in the Nexus Night Cafe to anyone who found themselves stranded in the Northern Quarter after one too many (we’ve all been there).
But it turns out the project didn’t stop there. On the Nexus website you’ll find details about past film nights and art exhibitions, and there’s even a Nexus Blog.
Sadly the site – and therefore the organisation – looks a bit quiet at the moment. Hopefully they’re just recovering from their good Samaritan work over Christmas.
The project is organised by Sanctus1, an ‘emerging’ city-centre church who seem very technically au fait. Members there blog at You Can’t Control The Message, The Fat Roland and the church’s own blog.

Thanks for the mention! I wasn’t out with them that night, but I hear it went really well. Nexus is a bit quiet at the mo – mainly cos one of the main people is still off work after a busy festive period and getting married, but there’ll be plenty more on again in the next few weeks – just check the site.
