It was a great gig, very relaxed, funny and intimate. Particular highlights were Elbow (lead singer is great with a crowd) and Autopilot (nice to have a break from singer/songrwriters, and great tunes).

BDB was good but went on a bit (as usual).

Thanks goodness there were no Lennon covers to twee things up.

Well, I must say, I haven't been to many gigs (I frequent the cinema instead). But just didn't like the *coolness* of certain performers. Also, couldn't stop marvelling at some things. One of the guys in the first half sang his single, which he said was the best song he'd ever written. Sounds like the most boring song I've ever heard, hardly any melody, hardly any voice. Followed that by three other songs of his, turned out the guy has got a really good voice and is quite a good performer. I really don't get something.

What I meant in the previous comment is that it was simply different musicians and bands playing their songs, but none of John Lennon. And this puzzles me. So it was a charity gig, but hardly had anything to do with Lennon.

I've been there, but have been pinching myself throughout the gig. Was it really a 'John Lennon Imagine charity gig', or did I imagine it would be?
