New-look Manchester Evening News
I’ve been taking in yesterday’s full-colour redesign of the MEN. I think I like it. It reminds me of a website, with all the arrows, thin dotted lines and side panels they’re now using. The colour-coding of each section is good too, and the pictures seem to be generally higher quality. I’m struggling to find any coverage online about the redesign. Anyone got an opinion about it?

Took a little getting used to at first, but I really like the new MEN. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s sort of a mix between The Times and Metro. Also struggled to find anything about it yet on the web, but did eventually come up with this:

The font on the front page seems over large to me (this is the first edition I’ve seen of the new look so not sure if it’s like this everyday). When I was handed it I thought it had one of those advertising wrap rounds.
The paper itself also seems more crinkly than before, but all in all it’s very pleasing on the eye.

Thanks for the comments. I’ve found a bit more information:
“What we did not want to do was tinker round the edges: we wanted to do something new from top to bottom.”
