Manchester under attack from Space Invaders!
I took a photograph of one of Manchester’s most stealth-like guests, the space invaders, on Whitworth Street yesterday. It looked just like this:
Like the cow parade, Manchester’s space invaders form part of a highly organised international invasion. According to their website – every invading force must have a homepage – we’re one of fourteen cities currently under attack.
Those cunning Flickr users are leading the resistence against this formidable foe: schmindie_kid, beatniksalad, WhiteNoiseMaker, sahmeepee and Trevira have been particularly eagle-eyed in their hunting.
According to intelligence, 47 invaders are to be found in the city, which sounds like the perfect day out to me. Though word has spread that one, and possibly two, have already been destroyed.

Hi,
I have been aware of the space invaders street art for few years now after a friend of mine told me about it. I have spotted few in Manchester ans always keep my eyes open to spot new ones on my travels.
Would you be able to direct me to a website which shows where space invaders street art could be found outside in various cities through out United Kingdom.
Also are these any news groups or news letters which could be of interest to me.

hi ive heard of this for a while now and actually went out in the city today looking for them but could not find any. i did see some funny strange little blue men though near chorlton street bus station on a building about three of them. looked like they been climbing the building. gave the impression the building was under attack! however i soon found out i had discovered the wrong sort of alien invasion. looked a bit like liverpools la machine.

Many of the space invaders have disappeared since they were first put up, but I still see quite a few of them.

im astreet artist from manchester and iv worked with space invader,i told him all the best spots to put the invaders up in manchester,if you want to know where they are and your not going to pull them down i can map all of them for you.ps i sell on ebay so you can get hold of me there too.
